Ecological Hand Sanitizer with Benzethonium Chloride Gel (BZT) has a quaternary ammonium antibacterial compound approved by Health Canada to be used in hand sanitizers due to its effectiveness in killing germs and inhibiting future growth of microorganisms. The efficacy of BZT based hand sanitizers have been confirmed through various studies where alcohol-based sanitizer was used as a control standard and they were proven to be equivalent. BZT compounds are known to be much safer on the skin than alcohol-based sanitizers and do not evaporate quickly which allow users to only need a small drop to sanitize their hands.
